This CA-Licensed Supervisor will provide laboratory training, manage daily operations and demonstrate proficiency witth the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) of the Lab. REPORTS TO The Lab Supervisor will report directly to the General Laboratory Supervisor (Lab Manager), Chief Toxicologist, or Lab Directors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with supervising employees in the Laboratory Department Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Trains new processing technicians Manages laboratory schedule to provide adequate coverage Assures routine maintenance of laboratory equipment is performed at defined intervals Abides by all QA/QC, standard operating, and safety procedures Assures that workload reports on SharePoint are updated at least weekly. Responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Perform only those testing procedures that are authorized by the Laboratory Director that require skill commensurate with the individual’s education, training or experience, and technical abilities. Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of client test results; Perform screening or confirmation tests in accordance with laboratory standard procedures. Perform confirmation tests, if required, on positive samples using TLC, GC/MS or LC/MS/MS. Reorder supplies and propose test equipment acquisitions as necessary. Calibrate lab equipment as required. Document the calibration results for all lab test equipment as required. Clean and maintain lab equipment to manufacturer specifications. Provide assistance, training and support for Unlicensed Testing Personnel and new employees Attend seminars and obtain training as necessary to maintain currency of knowledge. Details: Immune Assay Scientist As an Immune Assay Scientist within Vaccine Immunotherapeutics, you will seek to discover novel vaccines (prophylactic and therapeutic) for the prevention and treatment of significant human diseases, using a variety of vaccine technology platforms in combination with immunomodulatory agents. We are searching for a motivated Immune Assay Scientist with immunoassay experience to join our customer’s Immunology group in La Jolla, California. The ideal Immune Assay Scientist will be required to have broad experience in the culture of immune cells and in the routine setup and execution of immunoassays (e.g. ELISpot, Flow Cytometry, T Cell Cytotoxicity, and Multiplex Cytokine Analysis) for the measurement of vaccine-induced cellular responses. The Immune Assay Scientist will be required to proactively apply their knowledge to design experimental work plans and effectively conduct their work both independently and as a member of a matrix team. Furthermore, on occasion, there will be a requirement to lead small collaborative teams, coordinating the team’s effort to successfully execute studies with multiple assay readouts. The Immune Assay Scientist will be required to summarize and critique their results, as well as communicate data concisely at team and departmental meetings. This Immune Assay Scientist role is primarily laboratory based with a major emphasis placed upon implementing state-of-the-art immunologic techniques, and routinely conducting high-quality assay work in an organized and safe manner.
