The San Diego Biotechnology Network began connecting life science professionals in 2008, and expanded into the bay area in late 2019, holding one very successful speed networking event, with additional in person events delayed due to COVID-19. Since that time, we’ve had two very exciting advances, we held first virtual SDBN speed networking event, and we created the Los Angeles Biotechnology Network. California’s innovation has resulted in advances in life saving drugs, development of cutting edge technologies, and a robust ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs with top notch research institutions, funding, incubators, and community. For the first time, we are hosting speed networking for all life science professionals in California. While the COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest public health threat of our generation, with incalculable losses of life and significant sacrifices, it has helped us to realize a new “virtual” world of connectivity. SDBN Founder Mary Canady will provide a free workshop titled “A Fresh Perspective on Personal Branding and Networking in Life Science.” You will also make meaningful connections with biotech professionals, entrepreneurs, and hiring managers across the state with speed networking and targeted networking tables.
Tickets are only $15 to attend the event, and all proceeds will be donated to the California Community Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund for victims of the current devastating fires and long term recovery and prevention. For our August SDBN event, we were able to donate $1,100 to the San Diego Food Bank, and hope to double or even triple this amount to help those affected by the wildfires. Click here to register, it will be great to network with California biotech professionals from all over the state at this historic event.
