Bio, Tech and Beyond (BTnB), the first combined community lab and startup incubator in Southern California, will open July 12, 2013.
BTnB offers professional scientists and bioentrepreneurs a place to perform low cost proof of principle experiments, and access to business development mentorship. Even in a biotech hub like San Diego, it is not easy to turn an idea into a business. It is always a juggling act trying to find space, equipment and money to do essential experiments before pitching a business plan. It can also be difficult and expensive for academic scientists to access help with the business side of things. BTnB wants to fill this hole in San Diego?s biotech ecosystem.
Experiments done at BTnB allow you to own your intellectual property, independent from your employer. Business development experts are on hand to help with grant writing, crowd funding, pitching, and legalities. The shared workspace allows you to mingle with other innovative entrepreneurs to get the brain juices flowing.
Come to BTnB?s Grand Opening Friday July 12 to see firsthand how the lab can help scientists and entrepreneurs to found the next generation of life science companies and strengthen San Diego?s place as a world class biotech hub. Drinks and snacks will be provided, and stations will be set up to show the types of experiments which can be done in the lab.
