Funding challenges across the board have resulted in many creative solutions for local biotech entrepreneurs, including using shared resources in life science incubators or finding money outside of venture capital. Additionally, organizations such as the San Diego Entrepreneur Exchange and the San Diego Biotechnology Network (SDBN) have formed to address these challenges through increased communication and networking. At the SDBN October 28th meeting, we?ll assemble a panel to discuss these new business models as well as to provide resources and networking to help entrepreneurs launch life science start-ups in San Diego. We are pleased to be working with Miltenyi Biotech on this event, they have recently opened a local office and are committed to collaborating to build biotech in our region as part of their mission to advance human health.
The SDBN will also be launching a new local biotech company directory at the event, along with statistics about the region and an interactive map. Since SDBN’s genesis in 2008, we have maintained the premiere life science directory for the region, highlighting and allowing access to job hunters and those wanting to start or do business in the region. Understanding our heritage and networking with our neighbors helps us to build a stronger life science hub. As always, you’ll have great networking opportunities at the event, join us, click here to register!
